The Print Room
Pencil on Paper
Today’s daily sketch is of a chap I met at Beamish Living History Museum a couple of years ago. He was working in the print room showing visitors how a 19th century printing press worked and giving talks about the history of the newspaper industry. He was a proper no nonsense old chap who obviously knew his business like the back of his hand.
In this sketch he’s leaning on a wrought iron spiral staircase while giving a speech which I’m pretty sure started off with the words “Of course, back in the day…”
