I’ve finally completed my second revision of “Elegance” I’m far happier with this version, the colours are more vibrant, the form is better and the painting as a whole seems far more interesting.
I’m still not 100% happy with the painting but I’m content enough to move on. I will be making one more attempt at this composition this time in oils. I want to slightly alter the turn of the geisha’s head and possibly tweak the light source a little to give the picture more depth so I intent to sketch out this slightly altered design before my final painting.
This painting was made in gouache on cartridge paper.
